Ooh, very nice screenies, Hidden_7! I thought that your character in the first one looked a little like you (see photo in ttlg gallery). And that brings me to a question: As our characters are our alter egos, do we make them look like ourselves? Or perhaps, what we would like to be? In my case, Aoife originally had white hair, but before I/she even got out of Seyda Neen, I remade the character- essentially the same, but had red hair, like me (though mine is fake, but it has been mostly red since I was 17, and that's a LONG time ago)
So, what do you lot think? Do we resemble our characters? And how?

With my first Elder Scrolls character I made an effort to pick something which looked like me, so I chose a red haired, blue eyed High Elf woman (I always play as an Elf) In Morrowind, however, the only faces which looked anything like mine were human ones, so I just chose the nicest Wood Elf I could find (from the Pretty Faces plugin project) It looks nothing like me :)
One of the advantages Daggerfall has over Morrowind is that the character and NPC faces aren't horrendously ugly. This was brought home to me just the other day when flicking through all the faces again in the chargen menu. The odd face is OK but most of them are a dead loss, IMO. There's one Dunmer woman in particular who looks like her face has been crimped, or something :erg:

Actually that's not the original face I choose for my char, it is from a mod, and I edited my char after the fact to have that face and hair combo, allthough the faces (modded and original) do look similar. I think I've got this image in my head of who the perfect hero for each kinda class is, and whenever I make a char in a RPG game I try to get them as close to that image as possible, so maybe my idea of the perfect hero has features of me (what can I say, I rock) but I don't make my characters to look like me. On a slightly related note, that current photo in the gallery of me really needs to be changed, I had my webcam on one morning when I just woke up, and thought the result was kinda nifty, so I used that one because I didn't really have a better picture, I'll need to change that some time.

Those pictures of hidden are pretty 'cool'.
Of course, after my axe has cleaved you, it doesn't really matter.
Hidden_7 on 27/3/2003 at 06:14
That is if you could get close enough to me to cleave me with that big ole cumbersome axe
Seriously JoJangles, why you always gotta be fronting, anytime anyone so much as mentions thier char your first respones is "Oh YAH?!?! Well my Character could beat up your character!"
News for you, this is a single player game, there is no way to pit each others chars against each other, and it also comes with an editor allowing you to make an uber char that can not be beaten (did one once, kinda nifty for the first few minutes) so the point is moot. Think of some new material like "In a battle of wits my character would give yours a firm trouncing sir" or "In a 24 hours charity drive my character would help 10x the orphans as your char" see where it gets you.

Okay this should work, although I'm probably wasting my time because you all just want to talk about and feed the troll.:nono:

Dunno, Hidden_7, I find his posts kind've amusing... unless I'm totally misreading 'em, those posts of his are entirely tongue-in-cheek. He's trolling, but not in a bad way ;)
Jordana Chal on 27/3/2003 at 19:53
Gets very boring though, after you've read the thousandth '"JoJangles/Tuco is the mightiest and best" + gratuitous insult if he's feeling pissy'- type post.... :bored: He's like a broken record.
Is there such a thing as good trolling?
