I took in several old games to EB games, and picked up Morrowind for X-Box, and Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance. My wife is hooked on BG.
I started Morrowind, but I just cant get the hang of the controls. Has anyone tried using and is it even possible to use a mouse and keyboard on the X-box for this game?

I presume you have an ancient and sucky pc? Cos otherwise there's no real excuse for playing the console version. Flog it, get the PC edition and enjoy keyboard\mouse.

Sorry bro. Not even the legendary (but ageing) double-act of Mouse and Keyboard can save the interminably dull Morrowind from its own laboured excess.
I preferred it on the Xbox to be honest. The scanlines lend it a faintly hypnotic quality. Like watching goldfish.
:)
Just buy that new Farcry instead!

I don't get the cries of "dullness". Why did I spend hours of my life on that game? Do you fuckers think I enjoy boredom or something?
If you want freedom and exploration, play Morrowind. If you want story-driven play with entertaining characters play Anachronox instead. Guess what... they're both great!

I enjoyed Morrowind on both Xbox and PC (but better on PC due to the nice mods, good think I played Xbox version first). I don't remember every having any issue with the controls.
Maybe you're having the old issue of not realizing the hits are stat-based and not graphics/physics based. So that you can swing your sword and you SWEAR you're hitting the dude but he's not getting hit - it's because your stats/skills are low and your hit percentage is low.

It's so annoying though, it's like your character starts off a complete retard - I mean, who with 2 arms, 2 legs and a sword couldn't hit a person 2 feet away?
This makes levelling up a very slow process at the start because you only get points towards the next skill point when you hit your enemy, which at first (depending on your class etc), a hit can be 1 in 10 chance of hitting.

PC version, clearly, as 1) it's gorgeous 2) it's buggy (patches are your friend) and 3) It's not even half as good without mods.

Well the whole point is that they are dodging/parrying your attacks until you get more skilled, but the game would have had to program a heck of a lot of animations and advanced physics and hit detection to make that work on screen. So what's happening is that you have to do some pretending for what's really happening, and you get some graphics to jumpstart the pretending
