This is about a PHP image and message board software based on futaba.php v0.8 (31/10/2005) ((
http://www.2chan.net/script/)).
I have translated and redesigned it and rewritten most of the code.
Setup- Change the custom settings in index.php. Upload index.php.
- Point browser at index.php
- Change 'thumb' and 'src' dir permissions to 777 if necessary.
Optional: If you want to use the spam protection, enter your account details in akismet.php, upload it and enable akismet in the custom settings of index.php. You can get an Akismet API key by registering at wordpress.com.
If you are new to image boards understand that there is no registration and that old threads will get automatically deleted eventually to make room for new ones. The actual board software is a single file and will work as a standalone without needing a database. However adding "gif2png" for faster thumbnail creation is recommended. It can be used as an image host (BBCode for the images is handily provided), or as a gallery or a simple message board or any mixture of that.
Demo is here: (

Note that the BBCodes generated on the demo site will only work on TTLG.com and systemshock.org.

Are you hoping to become the German "Christopher Poole"?

No.
I was just fed up after an image host I had relied on lately decided to stop all free services without providing an exit strategy. The futaba script seemed handy to host images myself. It turned out to be a lot of work.

I don't know what you are talking about but I sense your intent is less than total destruction of all that is good so I wish you well.

Doesn't work.

Error: Proxy detected on port : 80
Presumably it's trying to access my IP address when I upload, and finding my webserver. Why exactly this is not allowed, I have no idea.

I turned the proxy check off.
And yeah, the code seems to do just that. Check for open ports on 80 and 8080.

Why would an anonymous upload system care if someone's using a proxy server?

To enforce bans and keep out spammers I guess. The script does note the user's IP with the post.
