What the hell do kittens have to do with fish?!? They have finally lost it.

I think I'll have sea kitten tonight. It sounds exotic and delicious. And wouldn't adult Sea kittens be sea cats? or well... Catfish?

I think the point they're trying to make is that if fish looked as cute as kittens, then people would think twice about hooking them in the mouth.
Whatever you think of the way it's been presented, there's a legitimate argument in there. PETA are right to highlight the inconsistencies with which we treat different species purely because of their aesthetic appeal.

I don't know, pigs are generally pretty cute and I gobble those bitches up like they're made out of ham.
Cuteness matters, but it's only one factor in our cultural associations.

I'm pretty sure they lost it within moments of being brought into existence.

Funny thing is it looks like that fish hollowed out a cat to use as a suit. That damn fish! Kill them, kill them all!
Peta lost the plot from day one. Peta is the wrong name anyway, they aren't for the ethical treatment of animals but for the rabid defending of nonsense hippy crap. Go back to knitting your own yoghurt you freaks.

I view PETA about the same way I'd view a group that ran around with signs that said "SAVE A SEAL KILL YOURSELF" i.e I tend to forget they exist until someone inevitably posts about them on some forum I frequent.

PETA is just another crazy Private Voluntary Organisation that needs to raise funds somehow. If calling fish sea kittens brings in $$$, well, that says more about the people at large than it does about PETA.
