I haven't heard that much about avatars. There is more about How can I patch thief or Thief and XP (or other OS's) as well as loads of other repeated questions.
You don't see Komag saying Use the F'ing Search you Knob or Nightwalker saying Find out yourself W*nker Well I haven't anyway :D

demanding avatars after being told every-single-time that they are not going to happen, it doesn't take a lot to see that yet *another* post asking about avatars is a little silly.
If you'll notice, at the bottom of my post in small letters is something along the lines of "this is aimed at
everyone asking about avatars."
You should really drop into IRC sometime, there you will see that we don't take things too seriously. STFU, doesn't mean "Shut the Fuck Up" there, it has a comedy value. If I want to tell someone to Shut The Fuck Up, I will use those words, not an initalisation, which, used on TTLG, has a very light meaning. Hell, there is a clan based around these four letters, headed up by an admin.
