Got to love a nice tidy music space. I suspect the next time I attempt cable management, I'll probably find an old bike.

Nice.
I was a little confused at first, because I came here from your rec to june gloom re: synthwave and I see a track called Ocean Drive in the personal music creation thread.
Why?
Miami Nights 1984 have a track with the same name.

You might be suprised how many songs have the title Ocean Drive, its pretty much the go to evocation of the whole synthwave aesthetic. Just like the japanese citypop genre, it kinda evokes a nostalgia for an era which never really existed except in our imaginations.

Don't know why it didn't occur to me until today to post anything here. Most of you know the context, but for those who don't: I've been writing/performing since I was 15, grew up in the hair metal thing during the 80's and gravitated into prog for a long time after that. From about 27 to 47 I battled progressing heart failure leading to a transplant in 2016, but I was releasing (arguably bad sounding) albums and playing in original and cover bands that whole time, even if I had to sit on a stool to get through the gig. I also fell in love with power pop, The Beatles, and a lot of 60's music that started to blend in with the metal and hard rock I grew up on ("Dad Rock" as it's now called). I finally could afford the gear and had the health about a year ago to hone in on what I was hearing in my head and actually record it, so I launched a project under a pseudonym (Kyd Kalydoscope) that had gotten some label interest in late 2019. Put a band together to support it live, etc. Then Covid hit and I'm back to making music in my basement and backyard. Seems like between world events and my health I've struggled to get anything off the ground. Doing things online by myself has been somewhat better, so this is the first video from my upcoming album. I've done about 5 videos, third one comes out tomorrow. Nothing deep or prolific, but I'm having fun (This video ended up with 12K views on YouTube in six weeks btw. Idk what that means but I think it's good....?)

Dang son, you are using that new lease on life right. Shit I like that. Can you buy it on Amazon? I'll find out. That was good. Had a sort of southern rock thing going on and a sort of Rivals Sons/Blackberry Smoke thing.
And WTF? They made you cut your hair? It was one thing to crack you like a lobster but making you cut your hair was just cruel.
Found it on Amazon. Cool.

Since my son was born last May, I've been neglecting music barring some noodling with modular stuff just for fun.
I've recently made myself spend at least one hour per day writing, even if the result is utter horse shit (it usually is) just to keep myself limber in terms of production, otherwise I find I lose the edge over my music tech and it ends up being too much of a technical hurdle to just work.
Anyway, tonight I managed to actually cobble together something I didn't hate in around 3h: (

It's just a motif with some progression built around it, nothing mind-blowing, but I thought I'd share anyway.
Dark and moody like pretty much everything I write.

Tumbling is nice!
Your music makes me wish I could play guitar properly.
Love the videos too.
