Ok, so I'm supposed to find the troll idol for the Troll King Pog.
I found the idol, but now when I return to the troll camp, all of the trolls attack me on sight! The only thing I took from the outpost was a rune, and I remember them being friendly when I left. When I approach Pog and crew with the idol they just start yelling and swinging. Does anyone know if there's a way to pacify them... or if this is some weird bug preventing me from finishing this quest?:confused:

Sounds like a bug to me. If you already patched to 1.4, you might just have to start over. On the up side, it only takes about 20 minutes to get from the start of the game to the point you're at... er, at least, after you've tried out four different base stat setups, heh.

could be a bug. this is a great game, but a little buggy and not open ended enough.
did you kill the troll guard when you first got in, or did you show him the kings letter so that he would let you pass? killing might make them mad.
other possibility: there is a prisoner in the troll caves, did u let him out? he says if you do, he will move the rocks. I think this is an alternate way of completing the quest. If you havent let him out you can try doing so. however this seems like the brute force method of solving, since releasing a prisoner would be unethical (and maybe triggers the hostility). But if theyre already hostile you have nothing to lose.
also did you talk to Gruek's friend troll in the troll city? if you did then maybe you can compelete the quest to get Grueks friendship by getting him a birthday present.
read below to see how to complete the gruek friendship quest, and why:
[SPOILER]the reward is a troll friendship amulet. It will make all trolls friendly to you, which may solve your problem even if it is a bug. You solve it by talking to grueks friend troll in the blacksmith area of the troll caves. (you would have to have already done this i think, since theyre hostile.) then you talk to the snake woman in the library. she will give you a book that Gruek will like. then bring the book to gruek in the goblin gave area, and he gives you the friendship amulet.[/SPOILER]

I have the amulet but the Trolls on lvl 5 still attack me on sight :erg:

Hi,
To solve the troll quest pick up the key on Pog and free the grey troll he will remove the rocks for you.
About the bug:
*Do you remember if you've gone to level 5 before doing the troll quest?
*Do you have a savegame just before the trolls turned hostile?

IF you've gone to Level 5 after the Trolls from Level 3 turned hostile this is normal they are hostile too.

I played a little bit further last night and freed the guy in the prison cell. He helped me complete the quest, though I had to kill Pog and company to do it.
I completed the quest for Gruek about 45 mins after that (didn't get around to it until then). The amulet he gives you to help calm Trolls would have been useful before :)
I believe I did go down to level 5 and encountered the trolls once, but I quick loaded out of that game and went in the other direction (avoiding the trolls). I'll send that email, as I believe I have an old saved game.

In fact, i've maybe found the possible cause of your problem and it seems it is NOT a bug:)
In the level 3, there is a troll guarding the bridge to level 4. If you talk to him he says :" You no friend! You not pass!"
If you try to go through anyway, he will attack you and all the trolls will become enemies.
Is it what could have happened to you?
