I understand that there was a no cd crack for morrowind that supposedly gave some marginal performance increases. Having reinstalled morrowind and downloaded the new patch, I'm wondering if there is an updated no cd crack for the new patch.

No need, as I believe the later patches officially removed the CD check (although you still need the CD in the drive to play).
