Okay, thanks for your advice again. I think a lot of us could do with a bikerdude macro that does that phrase when we press alt B or something. I've ordered that one and will return the Corsair when it arrives (I have around 1 month).

I installed the new PSU but unfortunately the problem is still there. Does this mean I'm unfortunate to have bought two defecive PSUs or my graphics card developed a fault at the exact moment I installed the first one?

statistically very improbable. do you keep a bunch of spare parts around? I would just swap pieces until the problem goes away - at this moment, it's either the gpu, ram or the mb, so trying different rams and gpu would pinpoint the problem.

@Rsoul, can you confirm if you ran the memory test's I mention in the 3rd post..? as in ran the test on 1 stick, then 2 sticks, the 1 stick in a different slot and then just the remianing stick in a another different slot etc etc.
If after all of that the ram passes and the chance of a second PUS being faulty remote that only leaves the mobo, gpu, the hdd or the OS. So have you run a surface test on the hdd to check for bad sectors? if the hdd pass then twe next to test is the gpu - do a stress test on that with 3dmark for an hour or so. If that passes then backup your data and reinstall windows, and ALL of that above dosen't fix it then swap the motherboard.

Not all the tests. I haven't left it on over night, but I have done it with both sticks, then each one on its own, with 3 or 4 passes. No errors. A couple of other things need reporting.
The new EVGA PSU is loud, and it's very distracting. It's not a 'broken' noise (no grinding or rattling), it's just the air being drawn through it. I put in the original (VX 550) PSU just to confirm, in case I was just imagining it, and the original is definitely quieter. And I tried rF2 again, and now I can hear my graphics card buzzing with this PSU too. It's not as loud was with the 750W units, but it's there.
It's possible that it started a while ago but I didn't notice it, and I only notice it now because I'm listening out for it. I find this annoying. Now that my system is runnng cooler under load I'll have to try rF2 again and see how stable the sytem is. The buzzing is hard to hear and will be inaudible when driving.

Hmm, that's annoying as the 500w EVGA I have in my media PC is very quiet. What case are you using, some of the steel types tend resonate a bit.

This is my case: (
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cases/fd-ca-def-r5-bk.html)
The main reason for getting the case was because my old one was vibrating, and I wanted something that would let me hide the PSU cables. Yesterday I played rF2 for a while, with my original PSU, and got no restarting. So maybe it was a temperature issue. The GPU is reported to be 10 degrees cooler.
I've sent a return request to dabs.com, but I don't like the wording of their returns policy. I think they're trying to discourage people by making it confusing. It mentions the item having to be returned in a resaleable state (i.e. packaging intact) but one of their options is that the product is not compatible with other things, which is hard to find out without opening it.
