Just a friendly reminder to all our UK'ers.
Clocks go back an hour tonight.
Its like Back to the Future, only the lesser famous, less sexy version.
Suffice to say my head has been hurting all night with the possible time paradoxes involved in simply moving the big hand of my clock back an hour.
Or maybe its this fine malt...

Spare a thought for anyone working through tonight. It must be horrible feeling, especially if it's the first time, to have to repeat an entire hour of work.

Yeah, but if you're getting paid overtime, it's an additional hour you wouldn't have otherwise had.

When I used to work in the steelworks here in Cardiff, if you happened to be working nights when the clocks went back and had to work an extra hour, you would only get paid for eight hours, not the nine hours worked.
The management would say that when the clocks went forward in the spring the night shift then would only work seven hours but still be paid for eight. The thing was that you never knew if you were going to be working that particular night shift in six months time to get your hour back. Management said that was nothing to do with them!:tsktsk:

I can't remember why I know this but it's been moved to Nov. 4th this year.

What a crappy weekend it's been. I've been on nights (10pm-8am) AND had to work an extra hour!

Here in Australia we moved them forward an hour. As if my uni schedule isn't tight enough already, they go and steal one valuable hour from me

Frankly, I rather enjoy the extra hour of sleep. Never thought what a bitch that extra hour must be for those who have to work in the pm, though.
On the downside, my cats absolutely hate this time-change thing and are staging a rebellion.
