After i find the message under the building that paul has told me about and then go to the roof and send the signal, when i go back to the apartment, paul is gone. if i go out his door, there is no one there but if i open the secret panel in the apartment and then go out the door, there is an agent standing there. Paul should be there to give me the subway code and there should be a security bot on the street but there is not. when i use the code to get into the subway and se anna, no one will capture me, they just stand there. NOW WHAT did i do to the game??? I have the game of the year edition.

From what i've heard, this is a fairly common problem. One way i know of solving it is to save your game at UNATCO HQ right before Jock takes you out to NY on that particular mission, and if Paul doesn't show, then reload that savegame and try it again. It's worked for me.

first you need to enable cheats
do this by pressing the talk key=t (if this doesn't work see elsewhere about binding this key to talk) and deleting the word "Say" in the box and typing
set deusex.jcdentonmale bcheatsenable true (press enter)
Go to outside the ton hotel either at the door or window and
then press t again delete "say" and type legend (press Enter)
One of the options in the menu that appear is flags click on it.
Look for a flag that says something like paul denton unconcious
or Paul Denton Dead if either of these is true set it to false close
the menu then enter the Ton.
Paul should be back again.
