guest apartment 16. behind a wardrobe Is this the same wardrobe where a letter and the attic key is found? Because a secret was not registered for me when I read the letter and picked up the key

I'm not looking at any hints as I've gone through probably not even half this mission. But I wanted to mention what I guess is a glitch.
I was in the "backyard" that I accessed from the library. I went near scaffolding outside and was looking around that area and found nothing useful. So I was heading back to the library door entrance and right before i got in the open area where the benches/stairs are to go back inside, I got a message saying I found a secret. I have no idea what triggered this and saw nothing apparent just from walking like a window opening or something. Any idea on this?

It happened to me when I was in the barrel rooms in the basement and others have reported that glitch in this mission, don't think anybody knows the answer for sure but it's probably a patrolling AI's triggering a secret somewhere else in the mansion, hopefully you reloaded and carried on to preserve the untriggered secret.
If you've got a save I can look to see which secret was triggered, but if it is a patrolling AI or Mech bot causing this the save would need to be very close when the secret was triggered to hazard a good guess as to who is the culprit.

I think I figured it out. It was a window I access later on from inside the building which leads outside at that very spot.

I wanted to say that I'm finding this mission really good. I do have to say that at times I have/had no idea what to do. Doors are locked until you watch a cut scene, then unlock afterwards. If you don't explore everything several times, sometimes it can be frustrating. I'm over 5 hours in. I think I'm almost done though. I've found 10 of 16 secrets.Oh, playing on Expert if that means anything.
I've just completed the cut scene of the "murder" of the count and the building went into lockdown. The following I have in my inventory or have not gotten past.
1. I have a fuel can I haven't used yet.
2. I found a ring that I don't have an idea what to do with.
3. There is a room that has a chest at the foot of the bed that is empty and a locked hatch in the ceiling you can get to but goes nowhere.
4. There seems to be a ladder above the kitchen that is in the chimney of the game room. I can't figure out how to access it.
5. I was trying to figure out a reason for the theater light buttons and the viewfinder. So far nothing.
I'm not looking at any spoilers yet as I'm running around killing/knocking out the guards who are searching for the fugitive. I did find a slow fall potion, but have't gotten a roof access yet.
Also, there was a wardrobe in the attic area I saw early on that looks like it should open/move but at that time, nothing with that either. I'll come back if I need anything else. I did seem a bit confused with the kid rooms. There wasn't anything there and didn't see the purpose of them being locked.

Ok, I didn't look too much at hints. Though I do have a couple of questions.
I didn't think about using the code, so that was one thing. The only other thing that I didn't even know about was the extra house. When I saw use fuel in the abandoned house, I said to myself, "what abandoned house?".
So my questions are:
1. Was there any use of the ring?
2. How did you open that hatch in the room I described above and where did it lead? I never found it on the other side (in the attic?).
3. The ladder above the kitchen going through the game room chimney, what was that about?
Yes to the ring, but only if you read the book in the library in mission 3, Spy, you can then use it to complete a bonus objective.
I'm not sure which room your talking about, is it a small bedroom, family wind, second floor, that you access through another room in which all the furniture is covered with sheets? If yes that leads to the attic and is opened with the key you found in the theatre.
Not sure about the ladder in the kitchen don't think I discovered that.

Actually I never found that key for the attic. Yes that is the room I was discussing. If you look in the chimney in the middle of the game room, I can swear it looks like a ladder inside the window. Looking down seems like the kitchen. That's where I got that idea from.
I finally finished the entire campaign. I have to say it was extremely challenging and if you didn't follow certain things or find specific items (sometimes in a secret) then it was impossible to do. I needed help several times in the majority of the missions. I do like the unique ideas presented though. I think the scary eyes that popped up twice during the campaign got me the most.

Hello, i think i need some help in this mission. I'm in the closed wing of the palace, the one where i had to bash the wooden boards on the doors and where in the cellar there is a generator that i think needs to be refilled.
Don't know if i have reached this part too early and maybe i have broken the level but it looks like there's no way to go back to the main part of the palace: i can't climb the plant to go back to the window i came from, there is a well but goin'there is instant death and other parts of the garden are all barred.
Any hint would be really appreciated, thanks.

There are still two ways to leave the house even now.
You can get onto the roof of the house somehow, maybe from an attic window. If you go to the low part of the roof and try a running jump into the direction of the wooden fence/barrier, you might make it to the other side without getting hurt too much. Save before trying, though, in case you get hurt too much for your liking.
You may also walk along the wooden barrier and look for a slanted part of it, A wall is close to that point. With a considerable amount of wiggling and mantling, you should be able to pull yourself up and over the slanted part of the wooden barrier. It might be necessary to start from the point where the slanted and the still upright parts of the barrier meet.
It could be necessary to return to the abandoned house after a while, maybe even when the window you used to get here has been closed, later in the mission. Whatever you do, make sure you have what you need to fill that generator before you return, since the trip can be frustrating when you discover that it was in vain... again.
