That explains it.
But I experienced some new spawn problems. In the bandit base in Dark Valley I had a bandit spawning right next to me when I loaded a savegame. And the strange thing is that it happens again and again as long as I save in that area. If I run into another place and save, no one will spawn upon savegame load.
And this also happened in lab X18 after I grab the documents, but in this case it was more irritating because the bastards have ridiculously good armor, making it a pain to kill them quickly enough.
Hmmm, the question is if the same would happen with 1.0003 or is it a new "feature" of 1.0004...

Whatever it is, did not happen to me with 1.0001.
Oh, and I got more weird stuff to report. In X16, when I entered the brain scorcher room, the timer appeared, but it kept resetting as I progressed. I had 3:58 left when I pulled the switch to turn off the thing. :o
That was the main problem, here is one I found particularly useful. Remember the weird effect you get when you get close to the X16 lab? Everything very bright, ambient sound looping, muted sound FX. Well, you can bypass all that by running into the lab, load the level, then load Yantar again; everything's back to normal so you can more easily kill zombies for extra supplies.
I like the new Wild Territory by the way. It's so alive. Enjoying it is one thing, getting to Rostok alive is a whole different matter.

That at least is an old thing, I remember that from 1.0001...
And as far as new spawns.... Well, I went back to Cordon at the point when I was supposed to go to the Red Forest, and killed the all the military from both the bridge and from the checkpoint (to do the "fetch the documents" quest), and possibly because of this, the exit to Garbage started spawning 4-5 man military patrols! I encountered four such patrols when trying to get back to Garbage, sweeping through the dogs, bandits and loner stalkers... Made getting back a little... challenging...

Yup, that sounds accurate. The military attacks the nearby village (the one you start in) after you get the box in the military base nearby; regardless of you killing anyone in there or not. I did that mission only when I had no more business to do in Cordon.

I don't know if that's the case, but there were always a few spots along the way that reset the counter. Normally places behind crates and under stairs.

That means I accidentally walked into plenty of those spots. The devs need to fix trigger issues in a lot of areas of the game. :erm:
