I just upgraded my PC with a new dual core processor and an 8800GT, and I installed stalker just to take a look. Fuck me that game looks awesome, even if the graphics arnt the greatest. I dont know if I have the gumption to replay it but I'll probably replay a few parts.

Install the latest Float32 and it'll look even better. :D

Did they make it look a bit lighter?
Last time I tried it the latest version made shadows totally black which I thought was a bit too much.

The same here, only videocard is R HD 3870. I'll replay for sure :) Not only it looks much better in DX9 mode, but also stutters that I experienced with my old R9800Pro almost gone now.

You're lucky, the stutters I experience with a 7900 GTX are nasty.

It still stutters but it's heaven vs earth if compared with how it was with 128mb card. It was worse than on your 7900 for sure :)

i still get the occasional shadow bugs between level transitions or after big explosions....... nothing a reload does not solve. apart from that I always thought that game looks awesome in static lightning as well (notebook).
But float32+weather+other mods (OblivionLost incorporates much) makes this a beast of an game. and the last clear sky screenshots have me drooling all over the floor.
