I finally broke down and got bloodmoon and tribunal. I needed to download the patch for version 1.6something or other. However, when I installed it, it only got me upto version 1.5.1629. Which totally sucks because the dark brotherhood dude's speech is still looping... I need some ideas of what to do please.

The 1.5 patch is the Tribunal patch. What order did you install the expansions in? (you're supposed to install Tribunal and then Bloodmoon)

There's seperate patches for the expansions. Tribunal includes the Vanilla patch, and Bloodmoon includes the Vanilla and Tribunal patches, but either way you're going to want to get the latest patch to ensure you've got as many fixes as possible. Especially important since there are so very many bugs in the game.
