I don't find Paris attractive in the least (either physically or personality-wise). However, to be fair, she's now proven that she can be adequate as a slasher flick victim and as a pop singer. Not good, but honestly not as bad as I'd have thought she'd be. Not that either case was at all demanding.
As for the song: it's catchy and not incredibly dumb. However, that's neither here nor there as far as her involvement is concerned; since I'm sure an entire team of marketing gurus engineered it to a high sheen.
The video's clearly a wink to Chris Isaac's immortal "Wicked Game" clip with the sexes reversed. Shania Twain did that too in her homage to the famous series of Robert Palmer videos: "Man, I Feel Like a Woman".
P.S. Sypha- I agree that Blunt is a talentless hack and Powter probably only slightly less so but if you've only heard "Crazy" you're really missing out. As he showed on "The Grey Album", Gorillaz "Demon Days" and "DangerDoom", Mouse is clearly a genius and consequently Gnarls Barkley's "St. Elsewhere" album is da bomb, yo!

Gordon Bennett, is this what standards for pop music have come down to - "not as bad as it could have been"?
"Not as bad as it could have been", without a doubt, but still BLOODY ATROCIOUS.

I reckon that should be the standard for everything really
how was the sex - "not as bad as it could have been"
"well that nuclear war wasnt as bad as it could have been"
you get the idea

my personal favourite is 'almost podium'
"am I the best you've ever had?"
"nah.. probably about the fourth best"
"WHAT?"
"what? that's almost podium"

Frankly I don't care how it's made or how many guys she fucks per minute as long as the end result sounds good. And it does sound better than 73.2% of the other stuff on radio right now.
The fuck. If that's your game, we both know that Toxic was way better than this excrement. It has nothing to do with the "lady", it has to do with the sound tech.

"Toxic" by Brittney Spears? Yeah, sure, I do like that one better than "Stars are blind".
What are you on about exactly? Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me?
Mortal Monkey on 25/6/2006 at 22:04
Disagreeing.
