Not sure why but I find this stuff fascinating. Probably something to do with seeing how much times have changed, especially with some of the real old photos. Keep em coming I say:thumb:

Why are we doing this? TTLG is family in a way. Isn't that what families do?

Amen to that, BA.
Shame I don't have any pics to share of'em (me in one state, they in another...).
Phooey...

Renzes folks have been in the same area since the great grand days. I wonder did Boone lead them through the Cumberland gap from Virginia, did they fight alongside Davy and Jackson, did they battle above the clouds, did they stay on the farm while so many went to Texas after, did they ever meet any of my wayback branch, ever had a well drilled by any of them from Cleveland?
Koylas dad was a damn hippie. Me too.
BA still hasn't coughed up her parents.
Ducky was hatched.
Promises, promises from the rest of you.

I might have a couple of ancestors that did a few of those things. Most of my family has lived here for generations. All except for my maternal granddad, who came down from New England back in the late 40's, early 50's-ish.
It's always fun visiting extended family up there. I have a very elderly great aunt who has refused to travel down south all her life because, and I quote, she can't live without indoor plumbing and electricity. Needless to say, most of the fun I've had up there was at her expense.

Edit: What is it with me always landing on the top of page 2?

What's cool, to me, is the fact that your grandparents were born in the 1800s as well.
My paternal grandfather was 1891, and grandmother was 1895. My oldest uncle, 1917. And my father, 1934.
Mine too, though barely. 1899. And I am only 34.
