This is something I have been wondering for a very long time, and maybe some of you can help me understand. I was just reading in the news again how another guy kidnapped, beat, raped, and killed a girl in 2003. He was just sentenced to death today. This situation just begs the question, why did he have to kill her? if he wouldn't have he wouldn't be going to san quenton or wherever they detain ballbags like him. Seriously, everytime you hear about a kidnap/rape situation, the girl nearly always ends up dead, and I just don't understand it. Wouldn't the punishment for rape be much better than the punishment for murder? Did they kidnap the girl to murder her and the rape was just a side thing? or the other way around. I just cannot understand the thought process of these guys. Please:confused:

If a guy is of the mentality that he'd kidnap, beat and rape a girl, then it's not that much of a stretch for him to kill her off. Then again, I've never kidnapped, beaten and raped a girl before, so I don't know how hard it would be to cross that particular line.
I think it comes down to one thing: if she's alive, she can talk. If she isn't, he has a chance of getting away with the crime. That thought process is extremely stupid, but some people adhere to it.

Yeah thats the only thing I can think of. It is kinda stupid though, I mean, it might have worked in the 70's before they had DNA testing but now? You don't seen too many anonymous rapes these days, it's either they caught the bastard or are airing his face on national television

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the DNA thing only work if they have your DNA in the system?

note to authorities reading this: when thief13x commits a similar crime make sure to look for a live girl instead of a dead body okay

Might not be intentional either. If she struggles, or tries to escape, it might get out of hand, and she ends up dead.
And regarding getting away with it, consider how many crimes/murders are actually solved wherever this was taking place.
The DNA testing would only work if somebody bothers using it. I don't know jack about US crime, but from what I understand people are murdered there every day. How much work is really devoted to yet another dead rape victim?

Well okay, let's look at it this way. The authorities have this guy in custody already; why do
they have to kill
him?
Inhumanity comes in many different forms, but if your government behaves in an inhuman way, then it's not providing a very good example for its citizens.
