I think he was being facetious based on the fact that we all kind of agree that it was good, generally these threads turn into flame wars.
I wouldnt try to say one was better between Children of Men and Pans Labyrinth, I think I probably enjoyed Pans Labyrinth more but I dont know that it was a better movie.

Fortunately for all of us, your opinion can easily be dismissed as irrelevant.
This movie is excellent. The trailers I found overplay the fantasy elements of the movie. The drama concerning Vidal and Mercedes gets far more screen time than the Faun and Pale Man.

What? No, it has nothing whatsoever to do with that :erg:
It has only a few moments of realistic brutal violence, others are just implied. Its not like Saw or hostel or anything like that, its not a horror movie either. It has violence but not what you're asking I think.
Its the kind of movie anyone could see that was at least old enough to be exposed to violence. Its not a genre like horror where not everyone wants to see stuff like that, I would say almost anyone could appreciate it.

If noses smashed off by wine bottles or cheeks slit open with paring knives aren't your thing, I'd avoid this movie.
Although both only make up a tiny amount of screen time.
