This quest for the akaviri artifact must be the longest ever, I'm at the fort now fighting off hordes of skeletons, after fighting off hordes of ogres, please tell me it ends soon!
Totally wearing decrepit armour, AC down from 85 to 55, fighting with a bound dagger because I've run out of hammers and my daedric sword is in some state of disrepair (is it just me or do weapons and armour degrade A LOT faster than they did in MW?) and miles and miles from anywhere.
I guess the designers were aiming for the player to feel pretty isolated on this quest, in which case = success, but I am beginning to feel just a little bit weary of all this tomb raiding tbh.
I better get well compensated for this is all I can say...

Okay, it ended, and getting back was much easier than getting there :)
Just one thing: there were about 15 locked chests in the fort, is it worth me going back and looting them all or is it just bog-standard stuff?

The chests at the Madstone should be slightly higher quality than normal chests iirc., but nothing you couldn't find in a normal undead ruin.

Were you as disappointed as I was that the Akaviri undead were just normal undead? "Serpent people" my ass...

There's an interesting chest hunt in Pale Pass though; and by interesting, I mean totally mindnumbing-insane-spent-2-hours-looking. Makes you wonder how many little things they hid in the forest that few people will ever find.

I never really looked through pale pass. I have a sorcerer character right now and I'm manually looking through Cyrodil for a place to build my own tower. Pale Pass seems a pretty nice place, all closed off and all. But snow isn't for me. I want a place by the coast ;)

There are a number of locked-and-unpickable chests hidden throughout the valley, outside of the fort. Each contains a key to unlock the next. The last contains the prize, although in my opinion it wasn't worth the effort spent searching. No clues are given as to the chests' locations, which means you have to search every square inch of the map ....

So it's basically the same as Morrowind's key-chest-key hunt in Tel Fyr, but without the daedric artifact as a final reward?
Little_Dragon on 10/5/2006 at 01:28
Well, others might like the prize. My stats are maxed out, so it simply didn't have much appeal for me.
