That's what I always understood, and yes, the Thief games derive heavily from the Green Man, and dryad plus satyr, and flora and fauna concepts. So, there's no concept for a male version of a humanoid tree being that can assume the guise of a charming man to seduce a woman? Green Man's too patriarchal. A new model would have to be made that looks closer to a treebeast, or something, but then it's getting too complicated.
We've also yet to see an Amazon that lives up to the name, meaning "without breast", from the notion that they had a breast removed to aid in archery. Not that Amazons aren't a sexist concept on more than one level already. "Sylvan Warrior" can't replace what's ingrained in pop culture. :p
Hmmm. Tree Golem? Earth Shadow? Oof! The etymological root of Dryad is simply "oak". Mythology aside, oaks produce both male and female flowers, heh heh. Anybody heard of a Gancanagh, of Irish lore? Sorry, SS. :erm:

Thanks clearing. Can those .bin files be opened in 3ds max?

This looks great for a strange and kafkaesque Pagan mission. I'd only think that the wood structure looks odd on the robe. Tree people wrapped in cloaks made of rags or old leaves would perhaps look better IMHO.
By the way, have you ever played Krellek's Labyrinth? Unlike with The Sword you can really get sick in the twisted rooms there. :eww: If you're doing a Sword-inspired mission, I wouldn't miss this chance if I were you.

You could make deforming his fingers and developing as tree roots/branches, as in the Trickster revelation cutscene, by overstretching its bones (is the links are deformable) and using it as fakemelee... This should be interesting...

Thanks Beleg. There are some textures by John P that I might be able to use for a leaf robe. Making an entirely new texture is beyond my abilities though.
I've started Krellek's but haven't got that far into it yet. Some of the upstairs rooms reminded me of The Shining.
Mass - I don't know anything about that side of 3d modelling, sorry. That would look cool though.
