Russel Brand, Justin Lee Collins and in particular Alan Carr. How any of these people make a living out of being "comedians" is beyond me.

Isn't this pretty much what this thread is all about? "People like X, I hate it, they're idiots, I'm right and cool and have a six-foot penis"?
I don't think that's entirely accurate.
I'll have to go with hatin' Family Guy and its ilk.
Still trying to figure out why it's cool to hate Blade Runner, tho. But then, I'm a Ridley Scott fan from way back. I thought the movie was nearly as good as the book.

Damn, fett, I was just gonna post "every single Tarantino film" myself. Especially pulp fiction. What a boring, pretentious piece of shit.
Also, requiem for a dream and, to a lesser degree, american history X. I get the message, guys. Racism and drugs are bad. You don't have to mutilate your characters ridiculously just to drive it home. That's just insulting my intelligence.
I liked Pulp Fiction. Quite a lot; found it great, simple fun. Mostly agree about the rest of his stuff, though - while I wouldn't necessarily call all of it utter shit, I do think it's horribly overrated. And some of it
is utter shit.
As for American History X, I always saw it as an image of the relation between personal conflict and social strife and how the two reflect on one another, with racism being just the context, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.
Now on to my stuff:
* Robert Rodriguez - (since we were in that general area) don't care about his supposedly good stuff I never saw, what I did see sucked giant monkey balls;
* make some room for me on the Family Guy bandwagon;
* Jeremy Clarkson - rather sorry to put him on here, I don't think he's filth, I actually find him fairly amusing at times, but for the love of God, stop pestering me with what "he said" three or four fucking times each single day! Go start a church or something.
* Juan Pablo Montoya - admittedly not a thing of today, but still,
Good riddance!* WW II and modern-day war shooters - I realize some people feel very differently about this, but for me they remain utterly unimaginative and bland;
*
Elves!

Six-foot penises are rarely entirely accurate, unless you're a sperm whale, I guess. :p

Hate Family Guy? WTH is wrong with you? Are you a woman?
I also hate Family Guy and I'm not a woman.
In response to the OP, I find most of the popular shows(the American ones especially, with some exceptions like the Simpsons and Seinfeld) as mediocre and overrated. I'm just so sick of all those crime, reality and sitcom shows especially the comedy(I'm sorry but most US humour is just terrible) which is why I usally try and find shows which are alternative and more suited to my tastes like Doctor Who ( a long time favorite of mine). I swear if they cancel my favorite show for another season of Big Brother I'm going to assassinate the producers.

It's not cool to hate it, just careful deliberated cinematic thinking; dethtoll just likes to find some unquantifiable way of justifying why people hate what he feverishly masturbates over.

Watching football (and similar sports) on TV.

There's a lot of stuff I think is grossly overrated, but that I wouldn't describe as filth (for instance, I think Firefly is more good than bad; I just don't think it's GREAT. Arrested Development, and many others, fall in this category.). As negative as I often appear, there are few things I *hate*. The few I can think of off the top of my head:
A Beautiful Mind (was forced to watch this for a class- one of the worst films I have ever seen)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (pretty much everyone I talked to thinks this is great. AWFUL. AWFUL.)
The Power of One
Buffy seasons 5-7 (particularly 6 and 7 - 5 has its moments).
Backgammon.
I'm avoiding listing games because then I would go on ALL DAY (starting with Gears of War!)
