Dan Brown. If someone tells you that a Dan Brown novel is the best book they ever read they're probably not lying.
I assure you I read his books solely for the techno-porn.

Some highlights (scroll down to the 'literature' section):

Don't get this troper-iconographer started on Langdon the "symbology" professor. It's not a discipline, it hasn't been relevant since the seventies, it is not a department at Harvard (or anywhere), and SYMBOLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY. Good night!

This troper got a good laugh out of the scene in Angels and Demons where Brown reveals that Christianity got the ritual of eating our god (communion) from the Aztecs. Even if Brown wasn't aware of the fact that the Aztecs didn't appear until the 14th century, one would think he'd be familiar with the fact that the Christians in Europe had no contact with American civilizations until late 15th century. Which makes the chronology of the first Christians borrowing this tradition back in the 1st century a bit unlikely, nay?

Oh, whoops! I thought that said Dale Brown.
I'm safe, carry on.

:laff:
You know, the hack also used to write as "Danielle Brown":
187 Men to Avoid: A Survival Guide for the Romantically Frustrated Woman.
So see, he's (she's) not a "bad" writer--just sexually confused.

These threads are generally pretty depressing as it's rarely more than people railing against things that they
just don't get.So you don't like Radiohead and want to post about it on the internet. Well within your right, but I'll drown out my pity for you by spinning
In Rainbows again

Not nearly as ridiculous as most of the stuff in DV Code about Constantine and the Council of Nicea, or the Dead Sea Scrolls, which most people actually seem to believe for some reason.
