Totally random overrated filth - constant mis-use of the word emo to refer to top-40 glam-goth shit. I can't be the only person on the planet wondering how the hell emo went from being associated with Rites of Spring and the various Ian McKaye bands to faggy goth-pop and bad new wave haircuts.

Ege Bamyasi with an annoying singer
Assuming your referencing the Can album, I can only conclude that we are listening to different albums. Where the fuck are the funk riffs in Knives Out?

do you hate Flight of the Conchords because you're from New Zealand and you think they project a bad image?
I heard australians hate Steve Irwin for that reason (although they all seemed to like him fine after he died...)
I'm a New Zealander and I quite like them.

No, I didn't like them even before they hit it big overseas. They would often appear on the locally-produced late night stand-up comedy shows and would always play their parody folk songs - I found them to be genuinely not funny.
Actually the parts of the HBO series that don't involve said folk songs I quite enjoy. Their manager whom works out of the Embassy always steals the show.

I would agree that their songs, with a couple of exceptions, are the worst part about the show. That David Bowie one was absolutely horrible.

I'm not sure where you're hearing funk riffs on Ege Bamyasi, but in any case, if you're familiar with the album then you know the song "Sing Swan Song" right?

Well pretty much every song apart from sing swan song and spoon, all have a lot of funk influences in my. One more night and I'm So Green, especially.

It's kinda that after twenty years of the Australian cliche being Crocodile Dundee the bush B.S. image had started to wane a little, it seemed. Then the next big thing is an over enthusiastic extroime Quoinslandah in a safari suit who says crikey a lot. There aren't enough picard pictures.
He was a pretty cool guy and did a lot of good things for wilderness preservation. But he was not a vastly famous media icon and his show was barely on the air here. When it was it was one of many many nature themed educational shows.
If anything the episode shows what a craven lot of chancers our media are, to cash in on his unfortunate demise so endlessly after none of the networks would even put his show on for very long.
