Is the fifth element actually overrated? I don't know what most people think of it, but I never thought it was particularly acclaimed. Since scots already sentenced you to death for other transgressions I wont re-mention those, but the fifth element is good 90's action movie fun that, unspectacular as it was at the time, has grown on me since I realized we very well might not get any more of that type for a while (if ever), with no paul walker or colin ferrel as far as the eye can see.

k, nothing surprising so far. A few days later I sign in on YT and after a while I notice that tiny icon flashing that looks like a letter a honeysucker would bring. I click and read:

I had to sit back for a moment and contemplate my internet karma. Then I wrote back a very nice message to this apparently 13 year old girl, that I'm terribly sorry about my comment and while I don't know her I'm sure she's really nice and has lots of cool friends.
Went back to commchat and fortunately forgot all about it, until just now. :(

Overrated, at least judging by its overuse (though not generally on these forums): Text speak.
If people can't be bothered to take the time to write down what they want to say properly, why do they expect me to take the time to read it properly (or at all)?

Recent one: Old Man's War, by John Scalzi.
Went into it expecting to like it, given all the recommendations I'd heard, but bounced off it hard.
Now I remember why I don't like Heinlein's style. Thanks for reminding me.
