i love how the people complaining about the airplane seem to think it was meant to be funny and/or cool or otherwise don't understand why it's being used (NYYYEEEAARRROOWWWMMM)
Anyway I figured Eva would come in and correct me. But let's face it, NGE is basically about an insane animation director working out his mommy issues through Christian symbolism.
Sarcasm aside, I do get NGE, btw. I'm just saying it sometimes gets really silly.

We know why it's being used, and you give people far too little credit when you use it. Half the time you use it without even understanding someone else's post yourself. It demonstrates such blinding narrow-mindedness that I'm surprised you haven't suffered a stroke.
Your points haven't ever been hard to get unless worded wrong; usually it's just people who understand your point and think it's retarded but are not assholish enough to enlighten you to that fact.

If you had a point somewhere in there it never got off the tarmac.

Meticulously-placed lowercase letters be damned. I'm wowed to the point of peeing myself by the hilarious and original use of excessive punctuation... so many question marks and exclamation points! That sort of cutting-edge in-your-face presentation makes me proud it's 2009. I mean, I was ready to acknowledge your greatness at two exclamation points, but then you went even further with six question marks! Before I had a chance to call my friends in to bask in the wit of Oscar Wilde's successor, I saw something I can only describe as impossibly cool: Seven (yes,
seven) exclamation points.
I'm going to have to try that the next time I'm at a party. Wish me luck!

Invoking Sturgeon's Law for the anime thing. There may be a significant majority of crap in the anime genre, but that goes for everything else in life. Every anime fan has at least a few titles or series that they really like based on quality and not on any overblown fight scenes or fanservice.
The American and Japanese population at large has one thing in common: they don't "get" each other and have never really made any serious effort to do so. What we have today is a half-assed attempt at cultural assimilation between the two countries; people latch onto the loud bits and ignore the subtleties that flesh out one's perspective on a people.
Trance has a good point. Even though I like anime doesn't mean I like all anime, there's a list of shows I absolutely hate and btw NGE is on it(the Manga comic of it is pretty decent though). It's like TV shows, you get some good ones and some bad ones.
But I should probably know better than to preach to Comm Chat people of TTLG, the majority being narrow-minded and abusive
