I think my savegame might be bugged, and here's why:
Moments after saving in the middle of a cave fight with some magical baddies I noticed that I suddenly stopped taking damage around the time that my encumbrance went to "110/0". I used a strength-boosting potion at this point, finally won the fight and saved again. But I found that I couldn't move. Four of my stats are now red, including strength, which is ZERO.
There is no indication in the lower right-hand corner that I am cursed, sickened or affected in any way, yet I can't move at all, even after dropping everything in my inventory. I was able to rest and teleport back to my mark point--which just happened to be very close to a temple--but even after taking a potion that's supposed to raise my strength by fifty for just long enough for me to run into the temple and hit a shrine, I still can't move and my strength remains at zero.
So what's the deal? Is my save hopelessly corrupted? Since neither resting nor the potion worked, is there any other way to raise my strength long enough for me to get into the temple?

Hmm.. almost sounds like you just got whammoed with a buttload of 'damage strength'... you're not on a PC by any chance, are you? If so, try this:
player->setstrength 50 (or whatever your strength was)
That'll at least get you able to get to the altar.... I don't suppose you have any 'restore strength' potions/enchantment/spells?

Yep, on a PC. I didn't see a place in the ini file for the "setstrength" value--do I have to go into the editor and apply this to an item in my inventory?
I did do a search before starting this topic and came up empty then, but after the last few hours of sitting around with a frozen character I've been doing some more reading (cough--planetmorrowind--cough) and realized that, yes, I was attacked by a bonewalker, and since this was the first time I met one, no, I had no idea what it could do to me.
I also thought it was interesting to read that I was not the first person to find that I was becoming invulnerable as my strength dwindled away to nothing.
I do have a strength-boosting potion on me, but it didn't do anything. Apparently I do need that "restore strength" version.

A tip to Bethesda for the NEXT patch: Don't let strength go below 1 unless the character's dead.

Ahh, the command I gave is a console command (which the XBox doesn't have) just hit either a ` or a shift-` (I forget which) and enter the command I gave. It's technically cheating, but your predicament is a bug IMO.

That did it! Thank you very kindly.
(I was getting worried, since I'd just spent an hour trying to figure out how to make the "Common Ring" in my inventory into a strength-boosting ring, and I think all I did was mess up the LeFemme plug-in...guess I gotta reload that one now....)

I just cast Mark next to my potion stash so I could Recall back and get some Restore Attribute potions without needing to walk. Or taking Skooma then Divine Interventioning.

A tip to Bethesda for the NEXT patch: Don't let strength go below 1 unless the character's dead. You can buy all the restore potions from Naclarya in Balmora she sells the exclusive ones and has the best selection I've seen so far.
