Overclocking a Geforce 6200's core. - by lost_soul

I was given an older machine with only a Geforce 6200 card. As these entry-level cards are extremely slow, I decided to overclock it. I changed the core to 400 MHz from the stock 350 MHz. When I do this, the core temperature still stays below 70 degrees C. Do you think this is safe? My more powerful machine's GPU runs hotter than this when not overclocked.
As for OC'ing the memory, I think i'll leave that alone. You can't see how hot that is getting and that scares me. :)
I saw a 15-20 FPS jump in Nexuiz after overclocking.

70C is pretty normal for a graphics card while running games or benchmarking software.
Also, it's pretty safe to over-clock memory and processor on graphics cards up to about 10 percent increase. More than that, you're going to need better cooling, and voltage increases.

As these entry-level cards are extremely slow,
your not gonna get much more out of it via overclocking either, just upgrade it.
