That's what you get for using a non-compliant browser :D
Site looks great, Judith. One question, how do new textures get added?
Judith on 3/9/2008 at 11:12
I'll send you all the info (login to site plus your FTP folder and account), when I get back from work ;)

Why haven't more people been using this? Everytime I pop on, I'm always disappointed to see the textures I posted almost a month ago staring back at me.
WHERE TEXTURES PEOPLE?
Judith on 28/9/2008 at 09:50
I was a little busy, trying to make a texture demo (which is being uploaded right now), so I didn't create anything new. You have your accounts people, make use of it! ;) And if you don't, just contact me.

As for me I would gladly add new textures to your archive. I made some new AIs' skins by myself. BUT all of them are based on TDS original textures. That means they could be used for TDS only and they need a readme-file with authors' rights.
So may I upload them to your site or not?
Judith on 30/9/2008 at 08:43
Well, if they're based on TDS textures, it means you created a derivative work from copyrighted content, which is, unfortunately, a copyright violation. It would be best to ask John P., as he did high-res textures for T3, how he managed to avoid such accusation.
By the way, does anyone have contact with BrendaEM? I was trying to contact her by PM and email - some of her "classic Thief" textures are really nice and I'd like to see them on this site. But I's been 3 or 4 days and I haven't heard from her. Either she isn't interested or she went on a holiday ;)

AFAIK any change of contents from computer games is illegal if we believe what they tell us. That would mean any mods or enhancement packs for the games were illegal as well. But as we know no one cares about that (especially since it's all for free and requires the original game etc. etc.), so JohnP's textures - most of which are by the way made from scratch - and anything else shouldn't be a problem I guess.
And since the AIs in the game require a certain texture layout, every reasonable AI skin would be "based on the original textures". Of course it would be even more blurry if these custom AI textures were based on JohnP's. :sly:

I added a few textures from my other project (architecture-oriented one, not a game map). I'll try to update the site at least once a month, if there's noone other posting. I still got no word from Brenda, though I've seen her in the forums :erg:

I've got a texture/model on deck, so I'll be updating something here soon.
I've been playing alot of Ultima Underworld here recently. Even though I came into it way past it's prime, I still fell in love with the game the first time I fired it up in Dosbox. It really is true that they don't make em like they used to, cuz, despite the dated graphics and other bits and pieces that haven't aged well, I haven't had as much fun with a game in a long, long time.
Course everytime I play it, I always think about how much more kick ass awesome it'd be with a graphical facelift, and how I could probably do some of it myself as a lark. So I did. (
http://users.chartertn.net/greymatt/new_door.jpg) And here it is, complete with a comparison in tow to show what I based it off of. It's just a door for now, but I'll be doing more later once I have a bit of time.
Course it can still be used in Thief & TDM, otherwise I wouldn't be showing it off here.
Once I get the low poly textured and normaled, I'll post both a mesh and a texture for everyone to play with. Oh, and I'll also get around to finishing that shutter sooner or later.
