I should put my copy of System Shock on Ebay:
Original CDROM boxed copy, SHRINKWRAPPED, with the I.C.E. Breaker guide, also shrinkwrapped.
:D
Sorry, I love my toys....

Thanks to eBay, I just picked up an unbound cover for the System Shock strategy guide, supposedly signed by the artist. Probably not very rare, but neat nonetheless.

Uh, what do you mean, an "unbound cover"? The I.C.E. Breaker cover art? Or the book with no binding?
ZylonBane on 1/7/2008 at 19:36
Just what I said. It's the cover to the strategy guide, but not subjected to the book-binding process. So it's basically a flat piece of heavy-weight paper. I spent some time scanning it last night. It was a bit of pain since the entire thing doesn't fit on a standard-sized scanner bed, so I had to stitch three humongous images together.
Here's the auction I won it from:

Thank you for explaining. I simply wasn't familiar with that particular expression in English, you see.
What a fun thing to own, though! Congratulations on your find! :)

I have that same thing Zylon. I'm not sure how rare it is but it's pretty cool either way.

You know, i was just having a good look at that picture (from OP), and, well it doesn't make much sense. At least to me. Is that guy looking out through a window where the hybrid is? Or is it just more of a collarge (sp?) of pictures?
Digital Nightfall on 7/7/2008 at 13:01
That's no hybrid. This is System Shock 1. That's a cyborg. ;)

The piece of original art that I would not freak'n nuts for would be the art from the cover of the Ice Breaker manual. I love it it marries the depictions of real-space and cyberspace.
Course, I'd prolly also go nuts for an original Cortex Reaver Concept.
