Definitely not. Firstly, I'm not the one drinking shitloads of Gatorade and secondly, that sounds dangerously like some kind of fetish subculture I don't want to be involved in.

Drink 32 ounces of Gatorade or Pedialyte before going to bed.
No kidding - alcohol dehydrates you big time. I don't drink when I'm singing cause it fucks up my voice, but I drink about 2 litres of Gatorage mixed with Pedialyte over the course of 3-4 hours), usually mixing a little water or tea in as well. After that I can drink almost three bottles of wine (not sure what the beer equivalent is...) and even a few mixers without feeling a thing. When you're dry, you body soaks up the alcohol like crazy. If you feel like a twat carrying around a sports drink, down a 2 litre of Gatorade on your way to the bar or whatever - or at least 2 hours before you start drinking - you'll dump most of the booze that way because you won't need the fluids.
I like to call it preventative maintenence.

Definitely lots of water before bed. Luckily I had my aunt to remind me, so I haven't experienced a hangover yet.

The obvious answer is to drink enough so that you're still drunk the next day.
The not so obvious answer is to take 2 Tylenol and 2 glasses of water before be.
As to the happy medium, I find that when I reach the point of thinking to myself, "Self, I got a nice buzz going', that's the point where I need to stop.
Any attempts to push that buzz a little further along inevitably backfire.

...red wine and a bit of Jack Daniel's...
Right there could be another of the problems. Besides dehydration, I have found that mixing types of alcohol will greatly contribute to a potential hangover.

What is this "hangover" you all speak of?
I wouldn't chalk it up to my drinking of lots of water, because I've had plenty o' drunken nights without one drop of water and I was fine the next day*. However, if you can somehow get it engrained into your head that you NEED water, you will find that you will be ordering one more often than not during, or at least after, your drinking.
I'd always drink to get drunk so this worked perfectly for me. At some point, I would always get a water or two and down it when I was drunk. Best thing for me is to go BEYOND the buzz because the fun lasts longer - then again it's quite easy for me as I have an incredibly low tolerance. To each his own. I've been alcohol free for awhile though.
There was this one time where, after a long night of drinking and no water, I got home and went to bed for 8 hours.... and 10mins after waking and finding my way to a tiled floor, I passed out and created a scar above my right eyebrow that will forever remind me of why I started drinking in the first place.

Well, the odd thing was that this combination didn't seem to make things worse, although you'd think it would. Perhaps I intentionally drink less if I'm planning to hit the hard stuff. Mixing tequila in there would probably be a bad idea though...
