(
http://labs.opera.com/news/2006/02/07/2/)
Includes "widgets", bittorrent support, thumbnail preview, etc.
Still in development, and as such potentially unstable. Haven't had a problem so far, everything looks great.

I *love* the new "block content" feature. It even removes the whitespace left by the blocked ads.
Way to go, Opera. :)

While traveling to this thread, I thought, "Hopefully we'll be able to set our pop-up block level on a site-by-site basis" Hurrah for mind-reading Opera developers!

Cool beans, no more need to manually edit the search.ini file.

Well, there was (
http://opera-info.xorg.pl/en/) the third party app that you could use. :)
Like I said on some other forums, I don't know if I find the widget stuff all to useful. Who wants an analog clock on their desktop anyway. :p

It's exactly as useful as Firefox's extensions; that is, they both depend on a 3rd party to produce stuff people would need/like.

We shall see. ;)

I'm intrigued by some of the features listed here, but I'm not very familiar with Opera. Is it "better" or "worse" than Firefox for general browsings of the Internets and usage of Bit Torrent? I'm a computer nerd myself, though a lite edition I suppose, so I'm not really what would be called a casual, run-of-the-mill consumer. Yeah. Anyways.
EDIT: Never mind, it's just a technology preview. I'm still interested in trying Opera out now, though.

Nowadays all browsers do the basic Browsing The Interweb thing decently (well okay, IE less decently still, but...), it's mostly the little things that tend to draw people to different ones. Opera is speedy and has a fully configurable UI, while Firefox can flex some really nifty muscles with its extensions, that kind of stuff.
Try them and see. I wish Opera had Firefox's extensions, but I wouldn't trade its speed for anything.

Just upgraded to 9.20, is there any way of disabling the stupidly large "page preview" thingy that pops up when I hover over a tab?
