Has anything interesting happened in the past 2 months?
Volca on 13/2/2008 at 07:08
Well, yes.
Scene Manager was rewritten, so the code is now clean and readable (finally!), and handles lightning. Sorry, no screenshot for now, but I'll try to post one later.
I also tried enabling modulative texture shadows, but those were so wrong (casted through level geometry, switching on and of as too many lights are present, etc) in anything than a simple case, I guess more work is needed to say if shadows could be supported without glitches and with a decent speed. I'll have to find yet why stencil shadows don't work.
Other than that, we're in the process of writing the python bindings for whole OPDE (Core engine will be in C++, the game dependent code should be written in python).

Is there a website that has updates on OPDE development progress/alpha releases? There doesn't seem to be anything on the Sourceforge site.
keep up the good work!

I guess you could check Subversion logs for that.

Thanks!
As Haplo says.
About releases: There was no release done yet (aside from the first WR reader prototype done in irrlicht). We'll do release when 0.3 is ready (dunno yet if source-only or even pre-compiled executable), but don't expect miracles :)
I always try to keep the NEWS file in sync with the version bumps, but it was not updated for the last few months. here:

Oh, i am expecting miracles-- nothing short of running the OMs, SS2, and (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46265) Deep Cover to boot :D
but no, i'm looking forward to see what levels of functionality have been reached so far. This should be cool.

This is looking very impressive.
