Yes, it's the armed forces and yes, it's their job - but obviously the 'coalition of the willing' have been blatantly misused, majority of them being US soldiers.
Abusing someone in that role is a couple of levels beyond misusing a solicitor in a frivolous lawsuit or sending a primary teacher into a secondary school. If the US hadn't doctored the reasons for going to war in the first place, and had just said - we don't like Iraq, we're going to get in there and destroy them - how would people respond to that? "You're in the army, go in and do your job?" "Shouldn't have joined the army if you can't handle your government sending you into unnecessary situations where you could lose your life!"
