so sick of hearin about katrina. simple, if people down there would put forward the effort to help eachother, instead of stealin, shootin up ambulances, and generaly acting like a lower form of life ((and dont tell me there just stelin to survive, unless you plan on frying up that 22"" plasma screen for lunch)) help each other, and maby life will improve.
people cant seem to realize that the city was, and in some places is under water.
i mean come on, YOU LIVE IN A COSTAL CITY BELOW SEA LEVEL!!
how many times does this need to happen before people realize that!
if i was bush, id have finished my game too.
((but i have it form a reliable source that he was not golfing, but was with bin laden at the white house, taking turns eating peanut butter out of each others hairy belly buttons.))
but yea, the war sucks, we shouldnt be in iraq.
but we ARE and for some reason... getting our asses kicked.
being the typical brainwashed cracker, i know rather little about what is really going on.

... even though we simply backed the Northern Alience
TERRORISTS and drove the Taliban
GOVERNMENT (and Al Queda) into hiding in the southern mountains.
Fixed. :p

I may have voted against Bush twice and been against the Iraq conflict but I recognise propaganda. If this guy is a real soldier then he was hand fed that response.
I agree with you there. Even if it is in his own words, there are a lot of pet issues in there:
"I am sure some of you already know who I am now that wiretaps and spying on American citizens has been approved.":laff:

Because all the arguments in that paper have been said far more eloquently and sensibly by other people before. The only reason that the stuff written in the document is at all of interest is because of who (supposedly) wrote it. If you or me wrote it, no one who give two shits enough to post it anywhere.
Good point.

Just to be clear, I don't want the US military to be in Iraq, but at this point, we can't just pack up and leave immediately.
What is the measurable goal which, when achieved, will allow the US to leave?
Taking a cynical view of the UK's involvement in the south:
In Basra the militias have infiltrated the police force. The police can now keep law and order.
Job done, we are out of there.

Best one in this thread so far.
Right, for a second I forgot that posting like Patrick Bateman on coke is actually appreciated here.

So I'm guessing all Muslims are terrorists just like everyone in New Orleans is a looter?

And everyone who lives in San Francisco is gay, despite their continual denial of the fact. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

While sympathetic to the plight of individual soldiers, I've always felt that people who don't want to risk one day being shot at by hostile forces maybe shouldn't be joining the army.
Seconded. I have nothing but respect to those who have given their lives to these wars, in spite of the media "No one wants this war" essentially making the soldiers feel they're dying for nothing. Whatever these anti-war protestors think they're doing, they're pissing on those soldiers' graves.
And for those families complaining "I blame George Bush/Tony Blair/Gordon Brown for my son/daughter's death", I think they should look at where their son or daugter is working. They're in the Army - it's not supposed to be a pleasant easy job without any risk. They enlisted knowing full well what they might come up against - and plenty UK soldiers at least join knowing full well they might be sent to Iraq.
