Just because its volunteer armed services doesn't mean you can get out any time you want. If you're not a fucking pussy why don't you sign up to go to the war zone? When was the last time you were in a war zone?
I dislike this war as much as anybody, but I am simply outraged at anyone who disrespects our soldiers there. If this was meant as a joke, its in extremely poor taste.
Hey dumbass. TBE is the ONLY person here who HAS BEEN. As far as I'm concerned he can say any damn thing he likes.
The tip off this is fake is that (besides being the typical pat antiwar list) he says he joined up after 911 out of patriotism but includes Afghanistan in the list of our warmongering even though we simply backed the Northern Alience and drove the Taliban and Al Queda into hiding in the southern mountains. Only the hardcore antiwar fanatics considered any response to terrorism to be wrong.
I may have voted against Bush twice and been against the Iraq conflict but I recognise propaganda. If this guy is a real soldier then he was hand fed that response.

I
knew there was a reason I liked you.
But TBE is still my own personal hero (which has nothing to do with the war or his military experience).

I totally voted against Bush as President, and for Dick Cheney as Vice-President.

Why would you vote for the puppeteer but against the puppet? Too beat up and ugly for you?

Fake but Accurate = Specious argument.
Bob was hungry one day. Bob went to McDonalds. Bob saw that prices were now double what they were before. So Bob blogged it.
If we look online, we see that the prices went up, just like Bob said.
But wait! Somebody finds that Bob didn't actually go to McDonalds!
Obviously, the prices never went up and the whole thing means nothing.
I'm failing to see your logic here.

Because all the arguments in that paper have been said far more eloquently and sensibly by other people before. The only reason that the stuff written in the document is at all of interest is because of who (supposedly) wrote it. If you or me wrote it, no one who give two shits enough to post it anywhere.

There are a few more around, including myself and theblackman. The blackman also has the sole distinction of having served in three seperate military branches if I remember correctly. Combat or warzone experience aside, anyone who has been in the military could easily spot that article as a fraud.

Yeah, what a pussy. He was sent into a country that WASN'T RESPONSIBLE for the reason he signed up, and when he wants to avoid GETTING KILLED FOR NO PURPOSE he leaves. Yup, you're a pussy if you have a problem with dying for no reason. And guess what, dipshit- you can't leave whenever you feel like. You have to stay for your tour.
Being fake doesn't make his statements mean nothing- perhaps he wasn't really deployed in Iraq. But his statements about torture, about the American public being lied to ('They've got WMDs!'), they're still true.
Can't wait for oh-eight.
He came home from the war and then went AWOL. If he didn't want to continue his enlistment he could have gotten out of it. I've got 15 years military experience, and I think I know a thing or two. I've been active duty army and now I'm Air Force Reserve. I've been to Iraq. I've been to every country in that region. I've had mortars and rockets flying at me. If someone in today's military really wants to get out, they can. I called him a pussy for turning his back on his commitment instead of just getting out of the military. Getting out after being through that experience isn't anything to be shameful of.
Just to be clear, I don't want the US military to be in Iraq, but at this point, we can't just pack up and leave immediately. I agree with the US policy of hunting down terrorists and the people or nations who harbor them. Afganistan is a prime example of that. Myself, and every person who joins the military swears an oath to protect and defend the Constitution.
Quote:
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
I feel we protect our nation by weeding out terrorists and their cells throughout the world. If someone in the world calls for the downfall of my country and makes steps to carry that out, I say they need to be wiped off the face of this earth.

My apologies, I misread the original post. And I think I agree with you.
