Shit, I have to go to go all the way to the UK late in May and the main thing I have to look forward to is this?!

Yes, it's bad enough when you understand the language they are killing you in.
TTK12G3 on 25/4/2006 at 22:33
Right, because it would make me feel so much better if I didn't understand what the killer is saying to me while he's stabbing me repeatedly.

Classic Tony.
This is a joke, right??

The real question here is: Is Strontium Dog truly concerned about the issue or is he just seizing an opportunity to mock the Labour party?
Edit: What bad spelling?
SD on 25/4/2006 at 22:58
Both? ;)
Although I'm more concerned about your spelling, to be frank...

Over in Konspiracy Korner™, it is being suggested that events such as these will make the general public more accepting of ID cards (with the reasoning that "you see, we could have found these guys in ten minutes if we'd all had ID cards!")
Absolute bobbins of course, but entertaining all the same.
I'm a bit worried that Labour have stepped irreversibly into THE TORY ZONE (as seen circa 1996, where an over-familiar government simply give up trying to do anything correctly and slip into a self-destructive nosedive of horror).
Actually, I think Tony is just planning to fuck up as much as possible and give Gordon Brown about two weeks IN HELL as PM, before an election landslide defeat to the BNP. Good times!

This story was sold to me as if a ConAir style bus of THE WORST VILLAINS IN HISTORY had been hijacked in Dover or something.
The real story is much less interesting.
Still quite funny though!

He said the failure was “deeply regrettable” and conceded that people would be angered by the oversight.
There is a big difference in a foreign criminal being let out after serving their sentence.
It is far easier for them to disappear. The Home Office should have decided what to do with them, when the end of their sentence was coming up. They should, send them back where they originated from. If a British National is, suspected or Commits another Crime. Serious, or not. It is far easier to find them. Maybe these ID cards are a good idea!
They will have their records somewhere. Some of these Criminals have no kind of genuine Identity, for a start. Nor other, papers. I do think, Genuine, asylum seekers should be helped. Not these kind of criminals though.
Well it has given great ammunition for the British National Party.
This lot could not organise a Piss up in a Brewery.:joke:

Well, they've already committed crimes and been caught once already - presumably the police could just do it again when/if they reoffend?
