It's on a desk? Ahhh! I was looking in all the wrong places! :o I would have thought it would have been safely locked away.
Thanks!

Am I supposed to follow her someplace before I can do that? I saw no way of stealing it from her person, like Garrett could have done.
Whilst pickpocketing is implemented in this game, it's more of a 'steal it when it's not nailed down' system. There is indeed a location you can follow her to where you can steal it.
Specifically,
she lives in the Waterfront District, goes out for dinner at 6pm and leaves the diary at home when she does so.If you miss that, there is one final way to get into the guild.

Also, is that quest rigged, so I'll always get beaten to that Diary?
Nope, not at all. I got it from the house before she reached it; the trouble is that I think she knows where she's going, plus she's quite swift.

As soon as I understood that she was heading towards the marked area, I followed her. And saved just before entering the house. I let her in first, saved, and entered myself. The rest was simple - I watched where she would get it from, and then did just the same after reloading. She is not actually that swift - gives you time enough to pick the Diary right from under her nose if you know where it is located. :)

Indeed, though I meant that she was fast if you didn't already know where you were going (and abusing the saved game system doesn't count  ;) ).

A savegame option was designed to become a helping hand when used cleverly :p

The physics is a bit crazy in this! :D Sometimes you can send an enemy flying!
I think I'm up to level 12 now.
Been winning loads of gold in the Arena. I was doing really well, killing one after another, until the first match in warrior class. That bitch took some hits before she even began to lose health! :p (I got pwnd a few times by her!) Then I had some fun with that other bitch with that green war hammer! :o
The world of Oblivion is much bigger than I thought! I realized just how big when I went for that infomation the Orc dude in the Arena wanted. (Damn, that was a long walk, and I even took out two Oblivion gates on the way!) Aren't those fun? :joke:
When I got to the top of each tower, I just made a run for those things you need to take to destroy each gate.
The more I play this, the more I love it! :D
PS. Still haven't got that Diary yet. (I've been doing other quests)
Matthew on 13/4/2007 at 23:06
When you say you haven't got it, do you mean you haven't started the quest, or your have started but not finished? If it's the latter, you may well end up having to steal something else instead.
Sluggs on 14/4/2007 at 01:12
It's the latter. OIC, so she'll eventually take that Diary back then? I was kinda hoping that the game would wait until I'm ready to find where she stashed the Diary! :o
Kaiseto on 14/4/2007 at 21:44
Or you could just do what I did back when I played Oblivion and pickpocket the diary from her when she's leaving :p
I haven't been able to get back into that game for ages. God, I bought it the day it came out (Collectors edition at that). Ended up losing its luster after two weeks and I stopped playing it altogether a month or so afterwards. I've tried to reinstall it now and again, with mods, but it never lasts long. Part of it is because I spend hours and hours tweaking my INI file and downloading mods in order to help bump my framerate past 10 FPS. Running on an old Radeon 9800 Pro and Pentium IV single core 2.4 GHz processor.... I think OOO got me playing it again for a whole week once ...
Oh well. Whenever I read topics like this I want to install it again.
Oh hey, just for kicks and giggles, try setting it down to "Very Low" graphical settings some day. The game looks worse than Daggerfall, and still doesn't gain too much of an FPS boost :p
