I have a sudden urge to play Terra Nova. Funny how quickly one of those can come on... I guess it's been too long!
Maybe if I'm feeling sufficiently masochistic I'll have another bash at the (spoiler warning!) All-Scout World War finale (see thread) after I'm finished :)

You gots guts. I'm too much of an all thumbs type to play above the normal setting.
Besides, I'm playing SS2 again after a very long time. This time I'm doing what I like to do in TN, setting up a ton of turrets all over the place. That's how I like it. Distract the enemy so I can snipe them.:ebil:

Woah, the thread I made when I first stumbled into TTLG.... impressive someone remembers it, even more impressive how my spelling has improved.
I am probably going to make another run through TN now that you mentioned it, and maybe pick the insane all scout world war challenge. Just one thing I found weird in your points, you mentioned firing the EM Grenades into the clones to disable them... I always thought they (the grenades, not the clones!) were only useful to pinpoint enemies' positions on the radar beyond your normal range.
Anyway, this gives me an idea to bring a bit more of life into this forum, challenges for specific missions on TN... I remember the number of times I remade that mission where Schuler dies (well, he goes evac when he gets hit once, so in theory it should be possible to get him out alive, if, by divine intervention, you get him out of there without a scratch.... well, I had managed to leave that prison without a hit myself, but can you ever trust the AI to do that?)
Let me see... the old computer downstairs should be capable of running the game.

I've been playing at World War difficulty, but generally keeping the default suits... (it's hard enough keeping my squad alive in some missions as it is, without making things worse :)

I always thought they (the grenades, not the clones!) were only useful to pinpoint enemies' positions on the radar beyond your normal range. More impede than disable... This alternative usage is definitely mentioned at one point in the game, but I really don't know whether it actually works.

Maybe we could make save game files available with appropriate save points? (especially if we ended up with a decent set of challenges).

Okay, here is one that probably lies in the border line of impossibility, going through all the missions without having a single team-mate going evac, with the exception of scripted sequences, of course. It may be possible, but enough for a challenge, specially in World War.
I also remember I once replayed the first mission over and over again until I got that wonderful 100% hit ratio, a self-imposed challenge at the time. And yes, it is possible, did it with the laser. But mind you, that was only in the first mission where you have only three pirates to eliminate and it took at least a dozen runs, it would probably require superhuman skills to do it in the others.
By the way, I know there is quite a number of people around TTLG who play(ed) TN, but who don't visit this forum simply because it is so.... inactive. Shouldn't we give a ring for them in the Community Chat or something so they may know of these challenges going around?
I also suggest that anyone who goes through one of these, please detail for your fellow squadmates how it was done, kay? ;)

We should probably spoiler-tag any 'walkthroughs', though...
I always figure that that anyone interested in Terra Nova will notice the little light-bulb showing that there are new posts in the forum, and come take a look, but who knows. Maybe once we've come up with a few decent challenges, we could mention it in one of the other forums (Community Chat or General Gaming, I guess).

Well, James Sterrett was a real expert on this forum a long time back. He always impressed me as one you want leading the squad in a non-existant multi game, of course. :) The last time he posted here was 1 day* (not 2 years) ago, though.
* musta missed the thread. :erm:

Ï suggest you change that "2 years ago" to "yesterday" ;)
(Coincidence or conspiracy?)
