I'm not sure if it's so extraordinary for a 400-lbs guy to lose 100 lbs in eight months. Now, if a 250-lbs person did the same, that would be a serious cause for concern.
Anyway, I was facetious in my previous post, but having to endure hunger against my will would certainly make me consider litigation, as well. Although, if I was that big, I'd secretly be happy to see my penis again.

Well, you also have to consider the fact that if someone is losing weight that rapidly while not even *trying* to diet, there's a good chance his nutrition isn't up to par at all. According to the guy, he couldn't even exercise without his vision getting blurry.

But for him to get that fat he must have been eating loads. If they are giving him normal portions he will lose weight.

That's a hell of a lot of weight to lose in that amount of time. It's pretty obvious something's wrong with the guy physically and that nothing is being done about it (unless he's lying his ass off, but then again, it's hard to lie about losing a hundred pounds).
I think you're mistaken (as has been said above) about this. Losing 100lbs when you weigh
OVER 400LBS is not something seriously wrong with your nutrition, it's the body going back to some semblence of normality. He was eating himself to death outside of prison, inside prison they gave him a fucking lot of calories, he was not in any way malnourished (as far as I can guess about american prison meals) but still not enough to let him carry on eating himself into an oversized coffin.

I'll bet he fucking couldn't, he was carrying around 300+lbs. You ever tried deadlifting 150lb? Imagine carrying that around with you all day. And what SE said

so I'm going to face disagreement about that from the "do the CRIME, pay the PRICE." tough guy contingent who think that committing a crime gives the state (and everybody else) tabula rasa to do absolutely anything they want to you.
Just as an aside, that idea is where we get the word (

Just to add to what DJK has said - not only would he not be
able to exercise but ANYONE weighing 400lbs will get have issues like this. Lightheadedness due to cardiac output not matching the requirements of an exercising 180kg person most likely.

I believe they said that inmates are given a roughly 3,000 Calorie diet.
He's not being underfed.

If you want to put on weight up to 400lbs you literally need to eat all the time - and not only the "healthy" stuff but mostly sweet and fat things.
It's clear that, if you suddenly are forced to eat regularly and *do not* eat inbetween, and if you suddenly can't buy your regular amount of chips and sweets you suddenly lose a lot of weight.
He should thank them for doing what he himself wasn't able to. Control his craving for food.

Yeah, a lot of people in Weightwatchers would kill to lose that much weight

Ha! I live about 2 miles from the fat guy. Just drove by there this morning to drop my son off for school.
