This game ran great on my old AMD barton 2500 system but now with my current rig, it runs like crap. Its the only game that gives me poor performance. The intro movie as well as gameplay skips like crazy and runs in slow motion(unplayable). I might as well be playing it on a p1 system. AS Ive said, all my other games such as dark messiah, run great. I tried older video drivers, sound, mobo, directx etc. Also tried winXp sp1 and sp2. Set my system(cpu fsb) to default speeds as well, no difference. Anybody have any idea as to what could be causing this? Thanks so much for any suggestions.

I'm guessing that it's your graphics card.

I just finished up the game on my system with no problem; I have two 8800GTX cards but I think the game was running with SLI disabled.

hmm, i got a prehistoric athlon xp 2800, 512mb ddr333, kt333 mainboard and a gf4ti-4200 graphics card. and it runs nice.
as we know newer drivers can lead to incompatibility. because your card is fairly new i guess you can't really use old drivers like mine, i use forceware 71.84.
the gf8800 is one of the first dx10 cards so i just guess there must be somekind of backwards incompatibility. maybe you should post that on the nvidia-boards to get a correct answer. :)

You think it could be my power supply? Im running a generic 520watt. According to the label on the ps, it states it has enough juice to run my components. EVeryone keeps telling me though to upgrade cause generic is crap and can cause problems such as poor performance with video card. Ever hear of this?

yes, i heard about the generally lower quality of generic psu. the power it provides is often not sufficent or not exact, not stable and more fluctuant. especially when you are overclocking. did you experience performance breakdowns also in other apps/games?
sorry, i'm not a specialist although i worked in a pc store for a while. :angel:

Nope, all my other games run well. I do get the often stutter but that happens with every system. Hell, thief 1 and 2 still stutter every once and a while on my e6600. Arx on the other hand stutters like crazy and is completely unplayble. Thing ran literally 50 times better on my old slow amd system. Just tried the latest Nvidia driver yesterday for the 8800. Same results.
