Moral of the story:
Cats -> extremely intelligant but evil.
Dogs -> helpful and friendly but very not-so-smart.

What part of starting a fire and then dying in it struck you as "extremely intelligent"?

He would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for that damn dog.

And thus Agent Monkeysee enraged several thousand Islamists all at once.

Can'ts aren't that smart when it comes to fire. At one time we'd occasionally put a lit candle on a mantlepiece and the cat burned some of it's whiskers off. It also had other parts of itself burned. She apparantly didn't have experience with fire and so was curious about it, but not cautious. She did learn, but so did we. We learned cats and fire are dangerous.
I've also occasionally been in the kitchen with the big burner on the stove turned on and putting out a lot of heat and a different cat would be riding on my shoulders and looking at it as though it were going to jump on the burner. I hate to think what even a glancing blow with that red hot burner would do to tiny feet. My guess the cat would be badly damaged. At another time I put her paw near it when it wasn't so hot but still hot enough to make a point. Hopefully she's learned.
