Obviously lighted is a word since it's the past historic of the infinitive "to light". The thing that hopper was probably trying to point out that it seems more comfortable to say:
"And he jumped onto a table that had a candle on it and tipped it over and lit the artificial plants on fire," she said.
Note however that this is a direct quote from a woman that uses far too many conjunctions, indicating she is shit at talking, much like a young child. Hell, she even starts her sentence with one so god only knows. You can get away with it in speech but it all looks horribly wrong on paper.

She doesn't know how to drive either. If she did, she'd still have her leg... and her cat, dog and house. The whole disaster that is her life could have been averted if only she could drive.

Poor dog :(
Why?. I did not think you liked my news stories.:erm:
That is a very sad story. It shows how faithful animals are. Truly heroic!.:(

See kids, this is why you use quotes if there's any chance of a misunderstanding. Good job, Aerothorn.

Bury that dog at the landfill. I don't want any dog that doesn't put out the fire by beating it with that cat next to Audie Murphy.
Extra points if the cat is alive and blinking bald after.
Hey, I love my little lap warmers but they aren't the brightest about where to crap or what computer equipment should be on the floor.
