That's a cool voice but it would be wierd hearing it from anyone else than Simons... or a clone of him.
Whoever the narrator is, he sounds EXACTLY like Bob Page.

:weird:
No. Not Bob Page. Walton Simons.

He did do Simons' voice for DX. So he's probably still doing voices for IW.

It sounds slightly diffrent than Simons. Maybe Simon's "original"?
Anyways, shall I now assume that the girl in the intro is the new female character?
Z on 21/8/2003 at 22:35
Nonono.
There are 3 main characters in the intro.
1.) The woman with the speaking role (with the English accent) She appears to be the woman with the dark hair in the control room thingy. No idea who she is, but presumably she is a position of some authority in TARSUS (The organisation which owns that building)
2.) The man with the speaking role (Walton Simons B) He's the male scientist with the beard. Notice how he looks (kind of) like Warren Spector? There is some speculation that he is Wade Walker, the clone in one of the Area51 vats who has Walton Simon's genetic code (which would explain the identical Tom Hall VO) Again, he appears to be an important TARSUS guy.
3.) The fetching, red-haired nano-augmented girl. At first, I thought this was female Alex Denton. If you look closely, however, when they open the door to her room to call her, the sign clearly says "Billie Adams" This name has been mentioned for about a year as a new character. Apparently she is another nano-aug working alongside Alex. They're both one of four "lab rats" cloned from JC, as I understand it. She never speaks in this movie.
Interestingly, note how Ms. Adams' appearance has (
http://www.planetdeusex.com/images/image.asp?/dx2/files/screenshots/pc/pcshot03.jpg) changed since this old shot (which I believe was from E32002) Personally, I prefer her new look. Although it is a little bit too anime. But whatever.
Also there's the scientists who are running to the helicopter at the beginning, the Masked Suicide Terrorist with his futuristic WMD* and of course the unfortunate soul running towards the TARSUS elevator who obviously forgot to tie his shoes. And paid the price.
Hope that cleared some things up a little.

*Hmm. Let us hope that such weapons never actually become a physical reality, rather than just nanotech-research inspired speculation by IS. A weapon so astonishingly powerful, yet the size and weight of a small cigar. Frightening.

Thanks Z. :thumb: At first I thought she's Alex Denton. :o The last (speed)augmented jump was fantastic. And I like her new, anime-like look as well. :cheeky: Kinda cute.
The weapon reminds me Star Trek X: Nemesis. :p

Wow, thanks for clearing that up Z.:D
So that's who Billie Adams is, another agent.

No, they don't. But this weapon is even more terrifiying.
Okay, admittedly, already existing biological agents do already have the ability to kill millions of people can be transported around in containters the size of a small cigar (or less) But biological agents can often be unpredictable, slow to act and spread, prone to dying out in certain conditions, or can be neutralized by antidotes (Of course that all depends on the specific agent, since they all have different properties) Despite the potential obstacles to it's development, a weapon like that used in the intro would be far more devastating than any biological virus. Even at it's worst, a biological weapon can only really kill living things, whereas these nanites could consume everything, and theoratically destroy the planet itself, rather than just the people and animals on it.
I guess you do have a point, though. It is a little foolish to be concerned about some future threat when far more immediate threats exist in the present. :erg:
