Greetings from the (
https://rich.itch.io/strangeadventures) Purple Void!
This is Rich C. (aka Arch Fenster), co founder (and court musician) of (
http://www.digital-eel.com/) Digital Eel* (
Games to make you squeal!). I'm very pleased to announce the release of (
https://richcarlson.bandcamp.com/album/plasmaworm) the official Plasmaworm soundtrack album! (Streaming and download.)
A weird energy creature native to starship systems and core temporal logic circuitry, the plasmaworm eats troublesome stray probability eidolons. It is classed as a helpful time parasite.- Galactic Guidebook
This (
https://richcarlson.bandcamp.com/album/plasmaworm) 12-track collection contains the level music from the 2001 (
https://crabfragmentlabs.com/cheapass-games) Cheapass Games/Digital Eel computer game,
Plasmaworm.
Track List
Plasmaworm
Vanadian Void Chamber
Transtemporal Function Pump
Co-magnetic Quantum Equalizer
Orthogravitational Duck Hunt
Hyperharmonic Logic Coil
Infracosmic Flux Assembly
Bilinear Time Compressor
Cyclotronic Singularity Turbine
Vibratory Discharge Element Loop
Astronuclear Timespace Capacitor
Subdimensional Exciter Plate
(Out of context, and in, for that matter, many of these pieces--extended loops really--are rather hypnotic and trancy, so get comfy and enjoy!)
Plasmaworm was the first PC game created by Digital Eel, and the first of four Digital Eel computer games released by Cheapass Games.
Plasmaworm is a (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_(video_game_genre)) Snake game, a genre that inspired many others, like Tron's light cycles and the Snake variant freebie, (
https://archive.org/details/msdos_Pizza_Worm_1994) Pizza Worm. But here's the thing: Plasmaworm doesn't run on modern operating systems. Dang!

Plasmaworm was notable for having a number of special and unusual features including:
* 360 degree movement
* In-game level and psychedelic background editors
* User-created levels could be shared
* Two player co-op mode
* Two player deathmatch mode
* Powerups
* Special terrain (speed & slow zones, chutes, etc.)
* Guns
* Enemies
* Bosses
* An end boss! (the dreaded
Plasmangler)
* And an in-game music editor--which is what you are listening to here, of course.
But
enough about the game. Iikka and I had a lot of fun making the (
https://richcarlson.bandcamp.com/album/plasmaworm) music and visuals editors and you can (
https://richcarlson.bandcamp.com/album/plasmaworm) hear the results which are stwange and ronderful. (
https://richcarlson.bandcamp.com/album/plasmaworm) Czech it out! And check out some of the other music I have there too--some game-related, some not. (It works out nice that way.)
Thanks!
