Thanks for the help on the last message... the rpgdot walkthrough could sure use a little more detail. :erg:
Has anyone actually enjoyed the Oliver's Treasure Hunt quest? To be honest, I haven't taken the time to really think about it, but from trying to follow rpgdot's hints, and reading the notes as I do the quest in-game, it seems like a really absurd quest. Are Oliver's hints as random and worthless as they seem, or is there a good riddle behind them?
So... of course I need more help. rpgdot's walkthrough mentions that there's no hotspot for using the shovel in step 6 and to "always right click the shovel." What? Dunno bout you, but for me, right-click opens/closes my inventory. I've gone to the spot described and left/right/single/double/middle/triple-clicked the shovel and every inch of dirt in that corner to no avail... what the hell am I supposed to be doing?
I'd sure like to meet this Oliver bloke and introduce him to the flat side of my shovel.

The right click is supposed to be the use key. I changed mine to the spacebar. Try the use key. Its near the broken ladder leading up. I believe just to the left. As for the clues, they are always the same, and a couple are kinda hard to me. But the reward may be worth it to you.

Am I supposed to do anything with the shovel? Normally, to use the shovel, I double-click on it. Then my cursor icon changes to an open circle. When I move the mouse over something I can actually use the shovel on, a little triangle appears in the middle of the circle. Then I double-click and do some digging. I'm right by the broken ladder, but I can't use the shovel on anything.
I have also tried pressing the 'use' key all over the place. If I see a note on the ground and highlight it with the mouse cursor, I press 'F' and the note displays full-screen. I press 'F' again and it disappears. I have looked all over the place in that little corner and pressed 'F' until my fingers bleed. What the 'F' am I supposed to do?

The rpg.com guide was what I used for that and I found it pretty quick. If that does not help, then maybe you have a bug or something. I hope you find it though. I do remember there are 2 ladders, you want the one on the left as you face the pit.
