Oldblivion for aged video cards... - by huitcat

Got a system that meets the requirements except for an old or seriously underpowered (I'm looking at that GFx 5200) card?
Try the oldblivion hack : (

I can make gameplay possible while you're saving for that X1600pro/7600GT.

Framerate? Indoors, outdoors, in fights with +3 monsters onscreen?

It does just what it promises, enables you to play the game with a video card that otherwise wouldn't do the job.
The frame rates I've seen haven't dropped below 20, that was with a 4800 and a 5200 ( I think the 4800 actually beat the 5200).

Holy crap, this looks promising! I'm going to try it on my laptop (GeForce FX 5650 w/128meg)

Hmm, anyone know if Radeon Mobile X300 is supported? The site doesn't say anything specific about it. My apologies if I'm just too drunk or stupid to find it myself.

Fantastic ! I've got a fiery Radeon 9000, now I can buy Oblivion (or ask my brother to send me the CE I ordered in France) :D :D
Huitcat, you made my day man.

My laptop has that card and it plays Oblivion well enough for me without that thing. The laptop does have 1280MB Ram which likely helps some.
I know that various guides say I shouldn't be able to play Oblivion, but I prefer to ignore them and just play the game.

I'm stuck with a sorry 512MB RAM, so no such luck.
