Old quest, but still stuck...

I started a quest, at least I think it's a quest, along time ago, but completely forgot about it till now.

I forget the details, but I know some important guy in Balmora got killed and his wife wants me to find the murderer. I go and look, one group says it was Nine-Toes, another say the Tong guy, when I talk to each of them, they say they didn't do it and when I talk to the wife, she says nothing. What do I do? Should I just not worry about it?

I think the guy you are talking about is the one in the Nerano Manor... the killer is one of the baddies in the Council Club. I never figured out how to finish this quest, and I'm not sure you can, but I killed all the peeps in the Council Club before even finding the dead body and the woman didn't say anything to me other than "find the murderer" so.. don't know.

It's definitely the Camonna Tong guy. Nine toes doesn't fit the description. Just kill him (try taunting him into attacking you) and return to Hlaalu Manor for your reward.

You really should do the bad people quest given by the Imperial guard in the lower level of Buckmouth. You can kill the whole club then claim both rewards.
