I was once caught for stealing and I decided to go along and pay the gold. after my bounty was paid and I was in front of the castle in the imperial city (where I got caugth) something really strange happened. A Zombie was standing right in front of me and guards started fighting whit it. I was totally "WTF". so recently I paid another bounty in the imperial city (I hadn't paid any other bounties since the zombie incident) and guess what... another zombie, right there, right in front of me...
so I'm just wandering... is it some kind of repercusion for joining the mages/dark brotherhood/thieves/whatever? what's this thing doing in the middle of the imperial city?
EDIT: now it happened in bruma too... gettting a little bit paranoid about it... (...neah)

It sounds to me like you've either found a bug or some sort of secret! :D
I had a similar experience the other day, only this had to do with my inventory. Upon being released, all my stolen items were removed, so I reverted back to an earlier save, (as one of the items removed was the Mythic Dawn Commentaries book 3, which I need for later) This time, before I spoke to a Guard, I dropped all my stolen items on the floor of an Inn, (so they wouldn't get taken from me the next time I get put behind bars), but low-and-behold, going back to get my stuff from the Inn after being released, I found that book missing! :wot: After going back to the cells and checking the evidence chest, there it was! :weird:

I'm not sure, but I've had some strange appearances also. A couple of different times I have encountered wolves and scamps running around different towns. I didn't get arrested or anything like that, they were just there looking oddly out of place.
No zombies though, thank God!

I guess you can imagine the nice suprize I had when after the loading sequence a creepy looking zombie whit one eye and it's toung out was breathing in my face... I got some rush in that moment...
fortunately I kind of got used to them since now that I have my
Staff of Ressurection
I spend most time in
undead infested Ayled ruins like the one where the Great Welkynd stone was, killing and bringing back to life zombies :ebil:
Believe it or not, something similar happened in Morrowind. A while back, someone was posting on the Morrowind forum asking why Balmora had suddenly been attacked by a wide range of monsters. No one knew--it was just a bug. A cool one, I might add.
I'm waiting for the day a large group of monsters wander into a town. Twenty or more! Now that would be cool.
Nonetheless, having even one zombie randomly appear is pretty cool too. Like Sanity said, why does nothing like this ever happen to me?

well I don't know what triggered this. I did notice that there was an increase in the number of undead in the game world once I gained access to the university and started out the mage missions to remove the necromancers.
but I think I also remember this happening right after the main quest finished...
you know it's weird because the guard says "we'll go to the castle and you pay your fines" but I end up in the prison district . of course for the other towns I go to their castles... and a zombie waits for me.
I also wonder if it has anything to do whit the dark brotherhood...
