Paikasta vielä...
Turku olisi varmaankin jees, mutta karsastan kyllä ripauksen verran ajatusta illanvietosta perseessä... Ja etäisyys on kyllä myös rajoittava tekijä. Pääkaupunkiseudulla järjestyisi majoitus ja muu suht yksinkertaisesti. Reissu Turkuun edellyttäisi käytännössä kierrosta Helsingin kautta = pitkä matka.
Tosin Koulu olisi kyllä mitä parhain paikka. Mainiot ruoat ja vielä paremmat oluet. Ainoa hyvä muisto Turusta. :-) Mutta piknik Suomenlinnassa kiehtoo kyllä enemmän, joten annan ääneni sille.

That sounds like a good idea, so my vote goes for Turku (surprise surprise :rolleyes:) too... Turku is a charming little big city really - is it big enough for the massive TTLG Suomi-jengi though, only time will tell...
If anyone's having trouble with accommodation, I'm sure there's enough space on some nice Turku TTLGer's sofa or something... I live a few kilometres away from the centre, but a very tiny person can sleep on my little sofa (and there's space on the floor for bigger people! :cheeky: )

Another vote for Turku and Koulu here! Just so I don't have to get off my lazy ass and travel anywhere.
Just one thing, I'd prefer to move the date for the end of June, so that I can get drunk too. Bloody meds. ¬¬

Either city is fine by me! Helsinki is more convenient, as I live in Espoo, but Turku is also a great place. I can check into a hotel for overnight. So whatever you decide is cool.
Picnic is also a good and fun idea. My only concern with that is will the weather be in our favor. Some preparations (cooking etc.) would have to be made in advance, and it would be a shame if we had to cancel the picnic on account of weather, for example. It would also be a bit simpler logistically if no one had to lug around drinks, food, tableware and whatever's needed, especially if the idea is to move on to a nice pub or something afterwards.
But I'm not against the picnic idea at all! If people really like the idea, then great, let's do it (starts thinking about what to prepare for the picnic)! I'm also ok with just going to a restaurant and then to a nice pub where you can get good beer and hear people talk.
Could this thread be edited to include a poll on Turku / Helsinki / Cameron Diaz as the place for the meet?
